Welcome to the first roundup of Quali Torque product enhancements in 2025!
For newcomers, Torque helps DevOps and platform engineering teams optimize operations for cloud infrastructure management, from Day 0 through Day 2 of the infrastructure lifecycle.
For an introduction to Torque, watch this brief demo:
Here are this month’s updates:
Terragrunt enhancements: Auto-tagging, Drift detection, and live updates
Torque leverages Terragrunt modules as environment components, enabling users to build consistent, governed environments consisting of Terragrunt and other components (such as IaC modules defined via Terraform or other tools) quickly and easily.
We’ve recently enhanced Torque’s support for Terragrunt to include:
- Auto-Tagging of Cloud Resources: Automatically assign tags to cloud resources created via Terragrunt, increasing consistency for reporting on cloud costs and usage.
- Drift Detection: Identify and flag resources that have drifted from their original Terragrunt configurations to eliminate time spent identifying and correcting the cause of drift.
- Environment Updates: Seamlessly update an existing environment when changes are made to the Terragrunt files.
- Resource Introspection: Gain visibility into all cloud resources created by Terragrunt, along with their metadata, for improved transparency and management
Edit Live Environments via the Torque API
Torque manages the entire lifecycle of environments, from orchestration through deployment and Day-2 operations.
To enhance the ability to maintain environments at scale, we’ve recently introduced the ability to edit live environments through the Torque API.
This feature enables customers to perform Day-2 operations by adding, removing, or updating environment components (grains) using Torque Workflows. Torque automatically generates a deployment plan to ensure the requested state changes are executed accurately and safely.
Store Audit Logs and Retrieve Them via APIs
Torque now supports the storage of audit logs in Torque and their retrieval of via API, enabling customers to archive logs on their premises and integrate them with their preferred logging solutions.
This feature is designed for customers using the Torque Enterprise package, and adheres to configurable data retention policies for compliance and security.
Enhanced Day-2 Operations with Operation Hub Updates
Torque’s Operation Hub shows all deployments and actions performed on the infrastructure and environments managed via Torque. This includes visibility into the owners and other users who have access to the environments, the time when this activity has occurred, and the ability to drill down into the configuration of each resource in the environment.
We’ve recently implemented several updates to the Torque Operation Hub that offer a more streamlined experience for Day-2 operations, including:
- Flat Workflow View: Track all Workflow executions in a unified, flat view to easily monitor and validate changes.
- Enhanced Environment Side Pane: Quickly access environment details, quick links, and day-2 operation tools without the need to navigate deeper into the environment structure.
